My parents purchased the house while raising their grand daughters. They are now down to only one child and don't need such a large place. I happen to love the house and decided it's time make the investment.
The house is a 2400 square foot rancher style, built in 1977. The original owners had the house for 27 years, until my parents purchased it in 2004. It's in pretty good shape - but does need a little TLC! The original owners had an obsession with the color green... well light green, seafoam green, mint green, etc. The shutters were green, the doors were green, the carpets were seafoam green, and the master bedroom and guest bath were painted mint green. It wasn't pretty.
My dad recently painted the shutters and doors, put up new siding, and a 6 foot privacy fence! I get to work on updating the inside! In the rush to get us all moved (me, my roommate, my teenage sister, three dogs, three cats, and 30someodd fish), I failed to take any "before pictures." So the pictures here are my "in progress" pictures... Not one room is completely finished yet. Needless to say, I'll be occupied with projects for years!
From the outside...
The Kitchen... I'm totally looking forward to redoing this kitchen!!! Too white and mint green!
Main bathroom. This one I do have a before picture of... It's not very fancy, but it shows the "lovely" green walls and floral border. Mind you EVERYTHING was painted mint green, including the cupboards!!! (Yes, I repainted it green, but a very different green!)
The Master bedroom and bath... This is actually my roommates room... yes, she too choose to repaint her wall green!
The other bedrooms... The blue one is my teenage sisters... The green and beige one is mine (yet another shade of green!!)

The basement... This is our combo activity area. If you're bored we have a piano, organ, pool table, dart board, and a t.v. designed specifically for watching crapavision! The carpet was torn out and I'm hesitant to replace it because one of the cats is a "bad kitty" (official diagonsis by the vet)!
Last but not least... The spare bedroom. While these pictures look bland, this is my favorite room! One of my neices decided to GLUE magazine pages to the walls. I spent days sanding the glue off the walls, patching the holes, spackling, primering, and painting the walls! The carpet had to go from this room too, but I think that's all I have left to do here!
